Coach Dakosty Returns

Marian Catholic High School Principal Jean Susko proudly announces the Marian Catholic High School’s 2020 Football Season Head Coach as Stan Dakosty. We are looking forward to rebuilding the Marian football program and Stan is the right choice to do so. With 43 years of football coaching experience and 40 of the years as Marian Catholic High School’s head football coach, he is well known as the winningest football coach in District 11 history, posting a career record of 309-148-3. Stan’s teams have won eight District 11 titles, six conference championships and the 1990 PIAA state crown. He has sent over 270 players onto play college football and many have gone into coaching football. Stan plans to not only strengthen our Marian program but also work on rebuilding a little Colts program.

According to Stan Dakosty, “After thoughtful consideration and the support of my family, I am proud and excited to return as the head football coach of Marian Catholic High School. As the head coach, my intent will be to run a first class program that will bring out the best of the Marian student athletes on and off the field. I will be reaching out to the Marian Family, who have been so supportive to our program in the past, asking them to continue the support and to build upon it. “

Have you joined our Alumni Association?

Marian Catholic High School graduates – HAVE YOU JOINED US YET?

We hope our graduates will feel strong enough about the education they received here that they would be willing to join the association for a nominal membership fee of $10 per year .. In an era when Catholic schools are facing continuous challenges that have prompted many to have to close their doors, we want Marian to be there for the next generation for years to come, and so it’s important we do whatever we can do to help that cause.

If each of us can do just a little, together we can do great things for our Alma Mater.

Use this form to become a member of the Marian Catholic Alumni Association. Mail it with your $10.00 annual membership fee to the school, 166 Marian Avenue, Tamaqua, PA 18252.   (Form will be added soon)

We are also looking for graduates to help the association by volunteering to be a class representative, where you will be asked to do non-labor-intensive things like reaching out to your class members, asking them to join the association, as well as updating addresses of class members.

For more information on the association and how you can help, contact Bill O’Gurek, Class of ’73 and association chairman, at alumni@mariancatholichs.org.
